Foreign enquiries about Gran Canaria property rose by 29.3% says Property portal Kyero.
The rise was part of a wide trend of increased interest in Canary Islands property. Enquiries about Tenerife rose by 50.7%, Lanzarote by 49.3% and Fuerteventura by 30.7%.
Property sales enquiries about Spanish property rose by 25% in the first three months of 2016.
The vast majority of Kyero enquiries were by British buyers (up 30%) while Germans, Dutch and Swedish enquiries also rose.
Market recovery
International interest is rising just as the Spanish property market shows signs of recovery. Housing transaction and mortgage approval numbers are rising across Spain although in a patchy way.
In Gran Canaria, housing transaction numbers are now at 49% of peak levels back in 2007.
